Hi guys! I would like to say Happy New Year to all of you because it's my first blog in 2018! This week's blog is about starting a new quarter fresh, with new goals! So I'm a little excited to finally write a blog for the first time of this year and quarter.
Since it is now the third quarter of the school year, my first goal is to continue to practice writing scripts and learn as much as I can for our personal PSA video. For the third quarter PSA video, we are required to create, film, and edit our own PSA video about whatever we choose that is an important problem in our community or something the public needs to be aware about. I'm excited to put my skills to the test and the fact that we won't have partners for our project, will be what's challenging. You really need to schedule what you're doing and arrange how and when you want to film it. Plus, it won't be a group doing it together. I's all on your own. Our peers can help act in it but not work on it together. So what I plan to do to reach my goal is, learning as much as possible and know how to prepare myself. But that's pretty much what's going on for the next month. I'm hoping that for the next upcoming STN challenges, my team and I will be prepared and have our things ready and set for the practices. Sometimes we weren't as prepared or focus and didn't think or plan for the topic that much. I hope that not only me, but our team, will do their part and think about quality and not quantity and that not everything is about winning. More importantly, we will definitely have fun and put in 100% of our full effort. One thing I've learned in the past two quarters is that, you can never procrastinate on projects or postpone things. Not like I've been doing it consistently, but we can all agree we get busy sometimes and want to have time for other things. Everyone has those days. But you just have to learn to put work first and make time for other things at some point. Besides that, I feel that I've improved in turning things in on time in not just media, but school subjects as well. Which has really helped me to persevere and control how I spend my time and organizing. For example, homework for about 5 classes each day can be stressful. Especially knowing there is a project coming up, then things have got to get done. I manage it by setting reminders, writing it down, marking it in my planner or calendar, and simple things that will most definitely help out so much. In conclusion, despite all the rambling, I'm so shocked to see how fast this year has just flown by in the blink of an eye! With our STN National competition ( Student Television Network ) coming up in the Spring being held in Nashville Tennessee, we have prepared ourselves ahead of time from what we've been working on all year. Fundraising and brainstorming ideas to match the topic for our practices, have been a breeze. But I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the quarter! See you guys in the next blog!
